Goal Setting that WORKS

Hello again

The other day I was chatting with a coach from Nightingale Conant and the subject of goal setting came up.

Now, we all 'know' that goal setting works, except that sometimes it doesn't seem to work at all. In our frustration and disappointment, we probably blame ourselves for 'failing' when that happens, instead of asking why setting that goal didn't bring about the desired result.

Of course, we have to take action to make things happen, but even so, sometimes the goal slips further away, rather than getting closer. The harder we try, sometimes, the further away our goal seems to get.

But my friend from Nightingale Conant had an interesting take on this. Without him actually saying as much, the inference I drew was this:

Goals can all too easily seem like dreams. They're unreal, because they haven't been achieved yet, and although Neuro-Linguistic Programming might tell us we have to frame our goals in the present, our subconscious isn't always so easily fooled.

So, a goal is something we can all too easily fantasise about, because it isn't real.

But what did my coach friend say to trigger this line of thought?

It was simple, really. He just asked this:

'In an ideal world, if everything had gone to plan, where would you and your business be NOW?'

The word 'now', coupled with the pain of now not being the perfect place we hoped for, is enough to give real weight to our intentions to get there, and SOON!

Try thinking of your goals like this and see if it helps.

Good luck and please let me know how you get on!

Roy

PS. My goals were sufficiently reset that we gained three new clients within a week and finally relaunched Niche Seminar Secrets for the US market. Add a few personal matters that we resolved and I think you can safely say that little 30-minute chat was very worthwhile!

Your Recipe For Success

Hello again

A nineteenth-century recipe for Jugged Hare began with the immortal line:

'First, catch your hare'.

If you've ever seen a hare run, you'll know that's a bit like saying, 'First, get thousands of visitors to your website'.

That's next to impossible unless you're already a big player online.

So, in order to eat, we might have to settle for something a bit slower-moving than a hare, at least for now.

How about a seated audience?

Given that most website visitors only linger for a few seconds and most direct mail readers don't actually read ... might an hour or so of someone's attention give you a better chance of communicating your benefits to them?

I'd say so. Coaches, trainers and overseas property companies know so. Even Internet marketers know their best audience is one that sits still and listens, with no distraction from the million and one other Internet marketers' emails.

In other words, seminars sell. Why else would Armand Morin, Andrew Reynolds, Sean Roach, Ted Nicholas, Simon Coulson, Mark Anastasi (and a load more besides ) put them on?

After all, if they wanted to be on stage they could join an amateur dramatic group! (Or, in Simon's case, a Coldplay tribute band...)

No, seminars sell. For seventeen dollars you can find out once and for all how well they can sell for you, too.

Go to this special Niche Seminar Secrets Page while you decide!

Roy

PS. You get my mentorship when you upgrade. As bonuses go, that's a BONUS. I charge hundreds of dollars a day, normally. You get me for nothing just for upgrading to Niche Seminar Secrets.

Great Goal Setting Will Align Lives

Hello again

Here's a useful tool I came across a couple of days ago when I was looking for something completely different. Life Aligner, from coach Darren Cockburn, is a piece of software designed to assess your or your clients' current life and how well it 'aligns' with the ideal - whatever that ideal may be.

By placing ten aspects of daily life into descending order of importance (ideally) you can then compare that with how much time, effort or maybe worry you actually spend on each - again, in descending order.

The software then produces an 'alignment' percentage. Of course, the aim to be as close to 100% as possible. The software can also be used to record and track a series of targets - one for each aspect.

The list of ten life aspects seems comprehensive but you can edit them if you wish.

You'll find it on the website http://www.greatgoalsetting.com, where you'll see coach Darren Cockburn is also offering a free 85-page downloadable 'Life Tools' ebook and one hour's free coaching until the end of August.

This is a free trial version of the software but it already seems like a very useful tool for you and your coaching clients. Being free, you can advise all your clients to use it, although you might not want to tell them about the free coaching!

I'm looking forward to seeing and reviewing the full version of the software, which is currently under development.Once again, you can find Darren Cockburn's 'Life Aligner' at http://www.greatgoalsetting.com.

Are You So Good Your Clients ‘Desert You’?

If you’re an excellent life coach whose clients tend to do so well, so quickly, that they soon no longer need you, here's some great news.

Because, if you’re that good, you probably feel should have more clients than you can handle, but perhaps getting those new clients isn’t proving as easy as you hoped …

In which case, you probably want:

· More referrals

· More leads

· More high-paying clients

· Less time spent promoting your practice

· More ‘billable time’

· More of your own lifestyle goals to come true…

Well, here’s the good news from one specialist life coach marketer: you can have all of those things, and soon.

Because, unlike most marketing companies who talk about ‘tailored solutions’ and then try to use a template, or ‘one size fits all’ approach to promoting your business, I specialise in promoting life coaches and similar professionals. That means I know where your problems are most likely to lie and, more importantly, I know from experience exactly what the best fix is likely to be.

But that doesn’t mean all life coaches are the same, either. In fact, if there’s a more individual bunch of professionals than life coaches, I’ve yet to find it. That’s why I listen first of all, to how you feel things are going and where you may feel they’re going wrong.

Sometimes that means I can reassure you about a problem that’s actually less of a big deal than you feared. Other times I might point out something you hadn’t spotted. But that’s my job. Once we’ve got it straight, identified the problems and discussed solutions, you can leave most of it to me. I take away the fear of 'How do I do that?' and replace it with 'Consider it done'.

So you can get on with what you’re great at (at which I’d be, shall we say, less gifted), and you leave me to do what I specialise in, namely:

· Getting you more referrals

· Getting you more leads

· Turning more leads into clients

· Getting you more high-paying clients

· Giving you more paid time

· Getting you closer to your goals and even considering new, more ambitious goals

But you can do your own life coaching! Let’s just say I can give you the opportunity.

Drop me an email and I'll get in touch

Marketing For Life Coaches

Hello again,

Not everyone is aware that my wife, Jacqui Carrel is a life coach, as well as being the other half of Cinnamon Edge. And there are a lot of life coaches out there these days - in fact, it's said to be the UK's fastest-growing profession.

So, it follows that to be a successful life coach, you need to be:

1 Very good at coaching

2 Very good at marketing

Luckily, Jacqui is both. But not everyone has the time or the inclination to learn a profession and learn how to promote themselves. Even those who know how, don't always have the time and energy to devote to marketing.

The problems of learning to do both things is amply addressed in Jacqui's new manual, just released, The Life Coaching Manual.

But for those life coaches for whom marketing remains either a problem or a chore, we also have a solution: specialist life coach marketing from yours truly. Apart from contributing chunks of marketing ideas and methods to The Life Coaching Manual and co-authoring The Complete Marketing Manual, I've also helped and advised other life coaches and similar professionals with their marketing and promotion.

So you know, if you're a life coach looking to promote yourself more effectively, or a new or prospective life coach looking to get started, you've come to the right place.

I know you want:
  • More leads

  • More referrals

  • More higher-paying clients

  • More payable hours and fewer spent promoting yourself

  • To move closer to YOUR dreams, more quickly

All of which you can get from Cinnamon Edge. If you're a new life coaches or you're business isn't bringing you the rewards you hoped for, you should buy The Life Coaching Manual. All business people who want to do better should take a serious look at The Complete Marketing Manual...

And if you want more personal hands-on help with your marketing, especially if you're a life coach, you should contact me.

Roy Everitt, Specialist Life Coach Marketer.
